hadley what are we gonna draw today, emoji kissing yeah we're gonna draw the, really cute emoji that's kissy and it's, got a little heart sticking out yeah we, hope you're gonna follow along with us, you got a marker and some paper you, ready to start yeah now also for this, lesson we're gonna use a bowl and we're, gonna use this for the template so you, may want to ask a parent or an adult if, you can use a bowl now the one thing you, want to make sure is that it's okay if, you get marker on your bowl especially, if you're using a marker because when we, trace around it it's going to get on the, edge of our bowl so we're going to flip, it over like this and we're going to put, it right in the middle of our paper, we're going to use our left hand to, press down and that's because we're, right-handed right yeah if you're right, if you're left-handed then you can hold, the bowl with your right hand and then, draw around this way okay so we're going, to put it like this and we're going to, reach around and i'm going to start, right here, watch this we're going to draw all the, way around and i'm going to stop when i, get to the halfway point see how it's, halfway through the bowl, then i'm going to come back around here, and we're going to finish i'm gonna, finish the bottom of our emoji but we're, gonna leave a little space, right, here so we're gonna leave a little gap, right there and that's for the heart, that we're gonna draw okay okay so we'll, put it down like this, and then put your hand down and hold it, and reach around over here and you can, start, there, and then we're gonna stop about halfway, so right about there yeah good job, and then i'll i'll hold on to the bowl, and you can start over here and then, stop about here, okay, wait i should stay or you can start, there yeah that's a good good idea, all the way around press make sure, you're pressing against the bowl, and then, perfect we can lift it up and look at, that we got a perfect circle with a, little space for our heart, now we're done with our bowl so let's, put that off to the side okay now we're, going to draw the heart so we're going, to start right here just to the left of, where this stops we're going to start, right here and we're going to draw the, first bump for our heart so we're going, to come up, curve around, and then back down and see how i stop, right underneath where we started so we, can start right here draw a bump that, comes down and stops, right there, yeah, around, and then down then we're going to draw, the other side of our heart that comes, up, around, and, come back down and connect, my little heart is kind of a funny shape, but that's okay, i'm going to make the line a little bit, thicker when we're all done okay, come around, oh good i love your heart it turned out, perfect okay next let's draw the little, kissy lips and we're gonna draw a three, then we're going to draw the number, three right here so we're going to draw, a big, three, for the kissy lips, yes, yes, okay next we're going to draw a sideways, v and that is for the winky eye okay, we're going to draw a line that comes, down, and then, out, so a little sideways v, start right here, in and back out, good now this eye let's draw our cartoon, eye that we usually draw so let's draw a, big, circle, and this is a little bit different than, an actual emoji but i think this makes, him look really cool, oh i love how big it is okay now we're, gonna draw another circle inside on the, top right, and then we'll draw a little circle down, here in the bottom left, and then let's color in the big circle, but leave these two circles the two, smaller circles white okay, okay hadley we did it we finished our, emoji kissing with a heart okay you know, let's do one last thing now on her eye, on this winky eye let's thicken it up, and make the line a little bit bigger so, let's put another v right there, to thicken up the line, and then, color it in two, just like that, yeah and then color it in, good now let's do the same thing on her, lips i'm gonna draw another, three inside of this one, like that and see how it comes to the, point to a point on each of the little, bumps and then let's color it in and, this is just gonna make, the lines look a lot thicker, and even cooler, yeah oh look at that that looks awesome, i'm gonna go around and do the same, thing with the heart, okay, now we're just gonna do it on this side, and that'll make it look like the heart, is in front of our emoji with a little, shadow yeah, perfect we did it we finished our emojis, except we need to do one last thing, right yeah what should we do next cut, yes let's color our emojis this part, we're gonna fast forward but at the end, you can match the same coloring it's, going to be super easy yellow and red, you ready fast forward let's do it right, now, as we finish coloring our emoji and that, was a lot of coloring wasn't it yeah if, you need to you can stretch your fingers, out like this you can close them open, them oh, scary hands, but they turned out so awesome and i, love that you added little eyelashes to, your eyes, always add eyelashes yes number one, always add eyelashes yes always add, eyelashes we hope you had a lot of fun, following along with us and we'll see, you later our friends goodbye, [Music]
VC's: Experienced 50 year old with good ideas. Will you talk to me?For context:
https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=6932327
I have a ton of business and tech experience. I've launched several garage businesses. One did really well but the economy, circumstances and a perennially under-funded state (hardware is capital intensive) killed it. All were interesting experiences.
I've never raised any money. I self-funded everything I've ever done. The last one to the tune of over half a million dollars of my own money. I am no stranger to being all-in and putting it all on the line for something I believe in.
Circumstances are different now. Either I take my time and bootstrap from small to large projects or look for investors.
Sadly, I will not move to SV and I will not live on noodles. Bummer.
I have identified two opportunities I think have merit.
The first is a pure software web/mobile service. As is often the case, it is a twist on existing product. I believe the twist is what makes it very interesting, gives it wide appeal and could make it huge. It can go global. I have a 70 page deck covering just about every aspect of this venture. No, it's not a new Facebook. It's a B-to-B, C-to-C (and permutations thereof) service.
The second is a novel use of quadcopters. No regulatory issues I am aware of. Sizable world-wide appeal. This is definitely a case of first-mover advantage. With proper funding and support, execution would be fast and painless. This wouldn't be a an R&D project. This is a D project. Define, develop and go to manufacturing. Heard of "live long and prosper"? This one is "move fast and conquer". Probably the Klingon version. I don't have a deck on this one. It's a recent discovery of mine and I've put zero time into developing a deck. With one video I can show anyone this is a good idea.
Looking for a low impedance bank account to help launch either or both of these..
,Launch HN: Lyrebird (YC S17) – Create a digital copy of your voiceHi HN!
We are the co-founders of Lyrebird (https://lyrebird.ai/) and PhD students in AI at University of Montreal. We are building speech synthesis technologies to improve the way we communicate with computers. Right now, our key innovation is that we can copy the voice of someone else and make it say anything. The tech is still at its early stage but we believe that it is eventually going to make possible a wide range of new applications such as:
- reading loud text messages with the voice of the sender,
- reading audiobooks with the voice of your choice,
- giving a personalized digital voice to people who lost their voice due to a disease,
- allowing video game makers to have more customized dialogs generated on the fly, or avatars of their players,
- allowing movie makers to freeze the voice of their actors so that they can still use it if the actor ages or dies.
Yesterday we launched a beta version of our voice-cloning software: anyone can record one minute of audio and get a digital voice that sounds like them.
We know that many on HN are concerned about potential misuses surrounding these technologies and we share your concern. We write further on our ethical stance on this page: https://lyrebird.ai/ethics/.
Our blogpost about the launch: https://lyrebird.ai/blog/create-your-voice-avatar that features the first video combining generated audio and generated elements of the video.
There was a thread about us on HN when we launched our website four months ago (https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=14182262) but at that time, no one could test our software yet and we did not really answer any question of the community. So this time we are ready for questions and would love some feedback!.

This took SO many hours and it isn't even technically the first page... Maybe I should have picked something easier for my first time trying adult coloring, but I've always been ambitious. 12

Ok hairstylists of FSU, I did a deep dive of Timmy's hair through the years. Is it naturally blonde? Is it natural *and* he's bleaching it? I don't know enough about the delicate chemistry that is hair coloring, but I BELIEVE IN YOU ❤ (s/o to spacejam199 whose recent post inspired this one!) 13

The person selling it said it was a “Philodendron Super Silver” but I’m not seeing any info on that and don’t believe that’s it’s correct cultivar name. It’s leaves are the same shape as a micans, but a bit bigger and it has the same coloring and sheen as a silver sword. 15

I TRIED to colour this Melanie Martinez coloring book page.I'll do more of these. 16
