hi guys it's me karen and welcome back, to my channel, today i'm going to color this really, cute little picture of a mouse, and this is a etsy purchase, and it's from lifescape's coloring pages, and i'll leave a link down below to the, etsy shop, and i did a little test here to make, sure i had the right colors, for coloring it so i put out, a red for the red parts of the candy, cane and his little hat, and a kind of a light blue to go into, the um, you know the white ish sections of the, candy cane, and i have the white pencil out also, i have a couple other pencils out but, we're going to have to pull out some, greens and everything else to do, the rest of them but i'm going to show, you how i did the little striping down, here, i'm using prismacolors and this is a, grayscale i mean you can, tell by looking at it this is a scarlet, lake, which is going to show up nicely on the, black, i tried other, [Music], new reds i tried the black raspberry, which almost looks like the black so, it's kind of a mute point when you put, it down, raspberry will work if you don't have, the um, red lake i'm not sure about the whole, sets, that was the other color i pulled out, mahogany red didn't work terribly well, because it's too dark, so you kind of use a brighter red when, you're coloring a darker, scale like this so you just kind of put, it down on the black, portion first i'm not putting down a, whole lot of pressure because, prisms will get waxy pretty quick, i printed this on a, 110 cardstock, and it's nothing impressive it's just a, generic brand of cardstock and we're, just going to go over the dark, same pressure the shadowing, in the page is going to do most of your, work for you, okay but we want the red showing up on, all of that, we're avoiding the, highlighted areas here, i got that piece anyway that's how i did, the bottom pieces and we're going to get, the very very bottom bottom bottom here, down, i didn't get this part done, and this is going to be an easy way of, doing this, one color letting the, dark shadows do your work for you, if you want it lighter i would put a, lighter, pink in here, like a deco pink or something would work, but i mean, that's looking pretty good now, on the gray part i'm just using the sky, blue light, and laying it down on the edges and, bringing it up, lightly, the light blue will mimic a white with a, shadow in it, so we're just going to go up, with that working in the gray, putting it down and pulling it over, trying to make it a little rounder then, you go over it, with a white, you can go in here with your white, pencil but this probably done better, with a posca, just because it'll show up more, but you can go over all that, it'll pick up some of the gray so that, kind of gets to be a problem, so i just go in with my eraser, that's supposed to be red nope supposed, to be just, and i go up that line and erase the ink, off, a little bit so when you go over it with, your white, it's actually going to be white but like, i said we're going to go over that, with the posca pen to get a nice white, line, so we just go over all those little, places, and just keep going red red red red red, on the darker ones then blue, and white on the other ones, to do, okay and just keep going up, and i'm going to turn it around so i can, get to the chain part, up here, and that's a leaf, and then the bottom, so how are you all doing i hope you're, doing well, there we go so we're all red, and that looks pretty good i'd like to, get that a little better but, can't get down close enough to that, now if you want you can take your white, and say you want it a little lighter, here just add a little bit of that, if you didn't want to get out of pink, just lighten some spots up, highlight the center of your candy cane, because it'll come down as a, near line, then we go in with the blue and do the, same thing, i mean kind of boring huh, but we're trying to do is get that color, on that gray so it doesn't look gray, and the color on it so it doesn't look, black, i think i came down far enough and then, we're just going to go over this and, well, since we have red on this we want to, wipe it get that off and just go, over the, blue, get all confused here, i don't want to go in our highlighted, area, okay it doesn't look too, shabby we're also going to put some of, this red, in i think i'll change over to the, raspberry so you can see a little, different, we have a highlight here i mean it's you, can tell where the highlight is, we're going to start in the dark can you, see that part, i'm going to bring it down so you can, see a little bit better, hopefully about making you, nauseous there so we put it in, the dark area here, and again we're going light, i'm gonna go over here too and get that, part done, [Music], another noisy car hmm, [Music], um, a little in there too, get the whole bow down here, okay down here at the bottom, okay, she's just going to put a little more, pressure in those darkest spots, darken those up a little, trying not to get it in the candy cane, i did, so i'll try to erase it out of there, okay i'm going to take the white in, and we're going to just go around here, and blend that in, we're putting kind of heavy pressure on, the white so it'll bring in, the color and just bring it over to the, corner there, this one here goes above this one goes, below and we want to see that a little, bit, same here this one goes above, this one down here goes below, here the white there a little there, and bring it down the bow, and the ribbon comes across there, that one goes over or under this one, goes on top so you want to see that one, this one goes under and this one goes on, top, and bring that one down, okay up at the top, this one goes under this one goes on top, so pull that one down, add a little more red on that, top under, under, okay and we were using the raspberry, this one needs to be a little darker, if you want a little more pink in there, just very lightly, touch the white, um, okay we're just going to add a little, bit in here and there, very lightly, you can do this bow in any color if you, want to do it blue or green or, i just thought i'd give a little extra, color up here, and darken that edge up a little bit, more, okay we're gonna take the same color as, the candy cane and do his hat, so we're just gonna go in here with the, um, scarlet lake, go right up to the fuzz line of the hat, and the fuzz line of his ears, then we're going to take some white, i'm going to lighten up a little area, here, and a little area up here, just to brighten that a little bit, go back over it with the red, just to blend it better, um, okay, [Music], then when we're doing the hat, sharpen my white pencil up a little bit, i'm going to take the pasta, a little drop my pasta on the floor, always fun yeah, make sure it works and we're gonna go, in here and just draw little fluffs, pull it right out into the red, go under it and do it again, [Music], down here we'll pull some up, leaving some of that gray, that'll be our shadows, we're just going to keep going fluffy, wise, pull some fluff up, and out, tiny little lines like that, i gotta really color his ears before i, get too crazy over here, i'm gonna just do the center here it's, just like doing fur, that's a fair lined hat so, just gonna fluff that in, have some going one way so i'm going the, other, and fluff it out, okay we're going to take a little of the, blue, after that dries, same blue you're using in the candy cane, blue light i'm going to pull some of, that in here, help define these little lines of hair, for fur, then we'll go back and put a few more, little white ones on there, and you can keep doing that layering it, and layering it the more layers you get, in there the fluffier it'll look, i want to color the mousy, so you can color mouse brown you can, color the mouse gray you can, do whatever you like and i'm going to, make it easy on me because i want to do, a, cute little fun picture, that i'm just going to put gray on top, of the gray, i just have to find the right color gray, to do that with yep, that'll work using the cool grays, so this one is cool gray 70, and we're going to go in around the, darker parts of the fur, and add that in, and yep tiny little strokes, and you pull it right up into the hat, get us more dimension up there too, following the lines that they already, gave us, okay we're going to do that on all the, darker areas, then we'll bring in a lighter gray, and just keep shading them around, this just demands how fluffy you want, your little mouse to be, me, if you turn your pencil you'll get a, sharp edge all the time, you just have to remember to do it, this eye's got some lightness around it, so if you darken this you'll get a, little more, light going on that eye, this cheek okay then we'll get a, that was um i'm sorry a cool gray, so we'll find another cool gray, all i'm seeing is warm grays, cool gray 50 and i want a lighter one, too, cool 30 both which need to be sharpened, yeah no plan when i start this you know, other than the red for the candy cane, there's still berries to do up there too, so this is the 50, we'll just bring in some of that too, uh, bring in the lines just a little further, up a little higher, i forgot to do his ears, just like to put it up there too run it, into that hat too, a little misfeet, okay then we're gonna bring in the, total thirty percent, kind of just lightly go over those lines, bring in the shadows a little and bring, down the shadows a little, okay then you can bring up some of those, lines, this one's going to be hard to see in, lines that's why, i'm we're using it as a shadow, it's really light color, i'll bring the darkest one in here what, do we got, cool gray 90 i want a sharp point on, that, giving him a little lip here and i want, to see it a little better, okay pull in any of these lines you want, stick some up here in his ears, another ear, there we go, lines down on his tummy, up to you how much fur you want them to, have, then we'll take that 30 percent again, kind of shadow up here on his forehead, just around his tooth here, and then we're going to give him, on his tooth, a little bit yeah just lost my ability, to, speak bees i'm gonna put a little blue, slate in it, just a tiny bit right here, very lightly, so that'll look just a little whiter i'm, going to put a little of that in the, white areas down here too, i'm not sure we'll check that out, um his nose he needs a pink nose, it could be a black nose but i think, they're really cute with pink noses, [Laughter], so i have some deco pink, would you put a little pink nose on him, and we're going to throw a little of, this in his ear, just around the head here and, up okay, i'm putting on a pretty heavy pressure, on this because, it's a very pale pale pink, and i think i want to put a little in, his cheeks, so just right under those eyes, pull it down a little bit, and there we go, he's so cute we're gonna put a little in, his paws too, just on the tips, his toes, oh he's adorable sorry he's just a cutie, pie, put a little highlight in his feet, and we can flip up those ears just a, little bit more, like right here, just bring up some fur, remember to turn that pencil so you get, the sharp marks, and go to another gray pull some of, those, up, and then the lightest gray, go over that heavy black line with the, light gray and you, lose some of that sharpness of the line, do that with a white pencil too, i don't want to miss too much of it, though, back over it with the dark there we go, okay the same thing with a little ball, up here, i'm going to put a little blue in here, first, um this is the blue slate i'm using i'll, put some in here too, just run it across the corners, okay i'm gonna put it in here, then we're gonna use the pasta pen, and we're to fluff this guy up too so, we'll just, pull it in little strokes, i should put some at the top so you can, see it up there, there we go, okay, it all depends on how fluffy you want, this, and fluff it up, gotta let that dry and then we'll fix, that up and we have the berries up here, to do, and then we'll run the um, pasta down in these little shadow areas, too, so let's get to the, ivy up at the top, hmm let's see if marine green will be, dark enough for that, okay, the other side sorry i have to move the, paper, [Music], okay and the veins are kind of a lighter, yellow color so let's find something, that looks like a yellowish, greenish color what do i got, well that's not gonna work i pulled out, neon yellow, i don't want it that bright, how about this one canary yellow, so we're going to go in and just go over, those veins, over the light spots of the green too so, it's kind of over everything with that, then we're gonna go back over it with, the darker green, okay and let's, see, go in with a little olive green, and just touch that yellow a little bit, especially around the berries, i do those too but just a little bit, lightly, there we go, under this bow would be a little darker, so we're just going to darken those up, and darken the tips of them, okay the um whoa i have everybody roll, berries are gonna be down in the bright, red, so it needs some scarlet lake, i'm going to throw a little tiny bit of, that canary yellow in there, go back in with the red, the yellow again there we go, okay, yeah we're going to throw a little of, this slate blue in here, just bring it right down, [Music], just on the edges, just kind of darken those edges up a, little bit, with a little darker blue than what was, there, i guess that piece is supposed to be red, it doesn't look too red to me, okay and on the outside here, just along the line, okay then we're going to bring in the, posca, i can't just get a racket get off all, the paper pencils come on, move my teacup yeah we'll just put the, eraser there, we need little marks on this gonna take, the pasta make sure it's all shook up, again, make sure it's working and we're going, to go down, this line, it may pick up some of the ink so you, may have to go over this a couple times, yeah i can tell i have to go over it a, couple of times but we're going to put, in that, stripe there, i don't know, i may end up erasing that out and just, going down on one side with a line, which isn't really hard to do it, scratches off pretty easy, and erasing it isn't that hard if you, can get your eraser to come out, come on, need more of a tip there, okay, okay just, erases out so, we'll just go through and, try to work that out let's go over it, with a white, pencil here and see how that goes, i want to see a little bit of that, coloration underneath it, i don't like it that it turns gray but, excuse me about just got this, yeah that's the grayscale and then i, should have erased it a little better, because i want a white not gray maybe, we'll throw a little blue in there, yeah i think i'll throw some sky blue in, it, okay around the corner up here, i wonder what that is do you think, that's a leaf of the, because it's pure white, i don't know if that's a leaf, yeah we'll just smear that around to, erase it and then go back over it with, the white, i think that's my best bet, because then it's at least off of the, thing, okay has to move too, okay go back over it with the white, and then the white shows up a little, better, i know i made a mess right there but, i'll clean that up too, eraser go in where you belong, a little pink there so we want to get, rid of that, and just go back in with the white, and uh i guess i'll color that green, because i don't know what else it would, be, there we go, okay then we will go in with our posca, there we go and we're going to just take, the line down on one side here, and cover up, the black line on that side, the same on this one, if i can get it to work, just on the one side, anyway i'll get that done and do a, couple coats on it and then i'll show, you, what it looks like at the end of the, video, get it up a little high for you so you, can see a little bit more, but i think that turned out kind of cute, i don't know about a background but if i, put one in you'll also see that at the, end of the video, so i just have to work on getting this, shine straight and, white, i may
