hey you guys in this lesson we're gonna, try butterfly monarch butterfly yeah we, hope you're gonna follow along with us, you need something to draw with we're, gonna use markers some paper and, something to color with all right let's, start yes let's first draw the thorax, which is the middle part of the body, we're going to draw an oval shape right, in the middle of our paper, yeah, then we're going to draw the head we're, just going to draw an upside down u, shape, and let's draw the abdomen which is a, longer u shape underneath the, thorax, man what monarch butterflies are really, cool especially when you see them in, person yes in real life yes i really, like dragonflies yeah they do, they kind of look like hawks yeah, they're so big just like, like right in front of your face, all right now let's draw the wings we're, going to start up here on the left side, and we're going to draw a big curve that, comes out, close to the edge of our paper, and then we're going to do the same, curve on the right side we'll come up, curve out now we're, trying to draw everything symmetrical, which means the same on both sides and, it's okay if it's a little different, right yeah we're just practicing okay, now we're going to draw a straight line, that comes out, sideways, and also, on both sides, then we're going to draw a diagonal line, that comes down really far, we'll draw that same curve on the other, side, now the top wing is called the four wing, and the bottom wing is called the hind, wing they have two wings so now we're, going to connect these the the top wing, the four wing we're going to draw a, curve we're going to start here and, we're going to curve around and we can, even put a little a few little bumps in, there and then we're going to come down, and then curve into that middle line, and i'm going to do the same thing over, here on this side curve around, a couple bumps and then curve into that, middle line, now we're going to start here on that, middle line we can come in a little, further and we're going to draw a big, curve that comes out, even a few little bumps on that one too, and then connect in we'll do the same, over here, big curve, bumps and then curve in, now we're going to draw the antenna, we're going to draw a little curve that, comes out but at the very end we want to, draw a little club at the end a little, uh thicker, dot, it's called a club i think, kind of looks like a club yeah kind of, it's going to do the same thing on the, left side thicken it up and we're going, to leave the legs off because they're, underneath we're drawing the top of our, butterfly but what's so special about, monarch wings orange yeah orange and, they have all the different kinds of, spots yeah really cool spots so we're, gonna make all of those spots before we, color it let's start with the four wing, and we can start on the left side we're, gonna draw this shape comes out like, this, and we're gonna curve back into where we, started, let's do the same let's repeat all of, the same steps on both wings every time, we draw something on the right side, we'll repeat that on the left side or, vice versa, if we draw it on the left we'll also, draw on the right cool now let's draw, we're going to draw a big shape out here, or a little shape actually a little oval, shape we can draw the same thing on the, other side, now the next one we're going to draw is, a little longer we're going to come out, further come back in, and curve around, same thing over here, a little further, come around and then back in, right now this bottom shape right here, we're going to start close to the body, we're going to come out so follow the, shape the first shape we drew, then we're going to curve and follow, that third shape, and now we're going to curve back around, to where we started, now let's do the same thing on the other, side, follow the top shape then the side one, follow the bottom of the wing and then, connect back in, jack you're doing such a great job now, our two butterflies look a little, different right yeah it's okay because, the most important thing is have fun, have fun and two practice practice, remember it's okay if your drawings look, different than ours i promise the second, time you draw your butterfly it'll turn, out even better than the first time yes, yeah all right let's keep going and we, have a few more spots we're going to, draw up here we'll draw them all up here, on the left side first so i'm going to, draw two ovals, then we're gonna leave a little space, draw two more ovals, these ones can be smaller, and then i'm gonna draw, three ovals that are really long, on the very end, now let's do the same thing over here, we'll draw two medium size, two small ones, and then three long ones, it's really starting to look like a, monarch butterfly with all the spots now, let's come down here and we'll draw the, hind wings the spots on the hind wings, we're first going to draw a big shape, right in the middle, kind of looks like a raindrop shape, yeah, then down here at the bottom we're going, to draw a really long shape we're going, to follow the first one we drew, go right next to it, then we're going to come out further, then we'll curve back around and then, follow the bottom shape of the wing and, then connect back in, let's do the same thing over here on the, right side we'll draw that raindrop, shape right in the middle of the wing, then we'll start close to the body, follow that first shape, then come out further to the edge of the, wing, curve back around and follow the bottom, shape of the wing back to where we, started, now we're going to draw a bunch of, little oval shapes kind of like we did, up here on the top wing we're going to, start here next to the two big shapes we, drew, and we'll draw the first shape kind of, short, then we're gonna draw another one right, next to that one, and let's draw two more shapes next to, those, just fit them in right, up to this top wing, cool that looks really awesome now let's, do the same thing over here on the right, side we'll draw that first oval shape, and we're going to draw three more, right next to that one, oh these are a little different than the, left side that's okay, now these are all of the orange shapes, on the wing on the very edge of each, wing there's a lot of little white spots, so we're going to start up here on the, left side and we're going to draw really, small, ovals and circles, to fill in the edge, of, the wing now you don't have to match the, same shapes or the same amount of spots, that we're putting just use your own, creativity and add a bunch of little, white spots, these ones we're not going to color, we're just going to leave them white, when we're all done, we'll do the same thing over here on, this side, then we're also going to come down here, and add those spots, down on the hind wings, when we fast forward the video or if we, go too fast during a step what can our, friends do pause it yes you could pause, it you could pause the video if you need, extra time to finish a step now we still, need to do one more thing to our, drawings color it yeah we need to color, our butterflies they're going to look so, much better all colored in now this part, we are going to fast forward again but, at the end you guys can pause the video, to match the same coloring you ready to, fast forward yeah, good job dad you did a good job on your, drawing, thanks man you did a great job on yours, too i love how it turned out all colored, in i hope our friends are gonna color, their drawings also we hope you had a, lot of fun drawing your monarch, butterflies yeah we do we hope you had a, lot of fun and we'll see you later our, friends goodbye
