hey y'all welcome back to another, episode of brave kids art club my name, is brad and actually we have a whole new, week of brave kids art club with some, amazing animals in our lineup so i'm, really excited thank you guys for, showing up and drawing with me today, today's animal is really big and really, unique it's uh it's not very many of, them and they're only in a very specific, part of the world so let me give you a, few hints and see if you can figure out, which animal we're drawing today all, right these can grow up to be about, eight feet long from their head to their, tail they're considered to be the most, threatened animal in central america and, their tongues are two feet long, do you know which animal it is, that's right we are drawing an anteater, and to be more specific since there's, all different kinds we're gonna be, drawing the giant anteater and they're, just so cool and really fun to draw so, let's make sure we have everything we, need to get started and let's go, all right make sure you have a nice, clean sheet of paper then we're gonna, need a sharpened pencil with an eraser, of some type because when we do our, sketching we're going to need to do a, little bit of erasing and especially at, the end, where we do our outline over top of our, sketch with a nice marker or a dark pen, and then we can just erase all the, sketch from underneath it and at the, very end, my favorite part we get to do some, coloring so that's gonna be a lot of fun, you don't have to have markers you can, do crayons paints, whatever you want to do colored pencils, uh all those are just fine all right so, now let's start with our sketch now they, have a very geometric body meaning their, basic shapes can make up the form of, this anteater so we're going to start, with like a half a circle kind of a dome, shape, and we're not going to use it completely, but it'll be a good guide to figure out, where the body parts are, on this anteater so let's start with our, big dome, right here, looks like this, like that oh almost like we're drawing a, turtle, the shell of a turtle, i want to have it all on this side, because i want to leave a lot of room, for the tail on the back so their tail, is huge, it's almost like half their body it, looks like it's a really really big tail, so we're going to have something kind of, come out, maybe if we did, let's draw the body first and then we'll, add the tail but i want to kind of see, where where the head is and things like, that before we put that full tail on, there so let's start with the face they, have a really unique long stretched out, face so we're gonna draw you'll see like, this, gonna have their nose down, like that, and then we're gonna bring it back up, this super long mouth and nose, kind of looks like an attachment on my, vacuum cleaner i have at home, it's not far off they suck up tons and, tons of ants and termites right out of, their holes with their two foot tongue, like i was saying earlier, really long tongue that's in here, you know we'll talk a little bit more, about that after we get this main shape, in but, see this little shape right there so we, have kind of the bottom of their their, cheek they're like jawbone right here, and then it goes all the way up down to, their nose, all right, so now we need to make sure we draw in, some of those arms now they actually, have some, kind of fluffy arms they got a lot of, fur on these arms, so let me show you i'm going to kind of, do a couple different, strokes right here little curved areas, that are going to come back in like that, for one of the arms, maybe it might be a little bit bigger, but we can keep messing with that, and then probably about right here we're, going to put the back legs, now i thought these would only, stay on all fours meaning they don't, really go up on their back legs but they, can they can stand straight up and when, they do they're taller than an average, sized person not crazy when they stand, up they're taller than a person, so they're really really big, and they only do that kind of stuff when, they really want to and they're trying, to defend themselves, and uh let's see okay so we got the leg, back there, and let's draw another one right here, the other part of the leg because the, back legs are thicker than the front, they're just always bigger just like our, our thighs are bigger than our biceps, most of us, okay, is that looking pretty good, all right so now let's connect these two, let's give them its belly, we can do that by just doing a little, curved, line right here, like that, oh i'm liking how this is looking, they're very very rounded off on the top, they got such a unique look it's really, cool they're really cool animals, all right now that we have their legs, that are in the front now we need the, ones that are in the back so let's do, that too so i'm not putting on their, feet yet because i never really know how, tall they're going to be so i want to, kind of put the legs in there and then i, can kind of sort out, where those feet should be because i'm, not sure if i'm set on them being there, but i can kind of that's why i kind of, use my pencil so i do my sketching to, kind of find out where things are going, all right so let's do that arm in the, background, we're going to do, kind of curled back a little bit, like, that like that, there we go and i'm going to kind of, round it off right here for the end of, their paw because you don't really see a, ton on their hands you do see these, giant long closets they're almost four, inches long really long claws so like i, said when they stand up maybe they're, defending themselves and they can even, fight off like pumas or jaguars because, they have such long sharp claws, it's pretty crazy most of the time they, just use them for digging, but if they have to, they can use them for more than that, all right we're going to shoot like, little nubs right here, on the s for their feet and that's, because i'm going to add those big claws, on there so i'm feeling more confident, about where they're all placed so now i, just need to, do it on the back ones as well and i'll, kind of have their foot come out in the, back, like that, there we go something like that and we, can we can change things up with our, pain at the very end we don't have to, feel stuck to this, but uh for now that feels like it's in, the right spot, we'll have the other foot right here, just bring that up in the back, there we go, a little anteater friends sit kind of, walking around a little bit maybe, looking for an ant hill, they love to eat ants, that's why they have that giant long, tongue oops this circle for the eyeballs, a little too high up let's move this, circle right about here, there we go, we'll give them a big friendly eyeball, maybe they'll be looking down at the, ants they're, they're sucking up with their tongue, and that tongue is all sticky so it can, go into the holes of like ants or, termites and get a whole bunch of them, which is pretty cool but it has to be, quick and its tongue shoots out really, really quick so it doesn't get bit too, much, the ants are probably going to be, fighting back, let's draw a little ear up there, and on the tip of the nose we'll just, kind of do a little line right there now, if you want to draw the tongue that'll, be really fun or you can draw some ants, or or anything else you want to draw i, might draw a little tongue right here, because it's such a big part of, what they are, i think it'd be fun to throw the tongue, in there, there we are, that looks super fun all right let's add, the claws on here so on the back they're, not really they're they do have claws, but they're not very big so i'm just, gonna do little lines right there, but on the front we gotta show those, really cool claws like this, whoa, can i have them, like that, aren't those kind of scary, i mean if they did want to attack you, they, feel like they could do some damage but, luckily, that's not really what they're about, they're not really about attacking you, all right i think we're now at the point, where we can talk about that giant tail, now we got to put the giant tail on, there so i'm just going to grab from, this end right here, right about here, i'm gonna go, and just do a little arc right back here, it's such a big tail maybe right about, there i can erase some of that stuff, luckily we got a pencil out, and then right here on the back end, i can i can draw a really faint line, to kind of have it come up, right there, there we are see we just kind of draw, some loose lines to kind of figure out, what we want to do, i like that so i'm going to erase some, of this, original line that we had, and then i'm going to maybe do some of, the now i can stylize it a little bit, now that i have like the main shape so, maybe i want to go like, like this, underneath it, add some little, waves underneath there, that might be kind of fun to do but i, don't need to get too carried away, because a lot of this i can do with the, colors i can do with my my coloring, portion at the very very end, so don't feel like you have to get it, all done here just the parts you want to, outline, where i might want to do a few other, little markings that they have on them, they have this really cool, mark on the back of them or on their, sides i should say, it goes up like this, goes all the way up here, let's see if i can do it yeah or right, about here it's like they got a built-in, design on the side of them like a race, car, though i don't know how fast they are, looks like it's made for speed that, design right there but i don't know, what other animal has a really big, stripe on their side, do you know any other animals, it's right the skunk we already did the, skunk and it kind of reminds me of that, has a big mark on the side, and then we'll do so that'll be black, and then or whatever color you'd like to, put it in and then i'm gonna have like, kind of a band of black right here, and uh the rest of it we can just do, with our colors, so which means we are ready to do our, outline all right let's start with our, nose right here and mouth right at the, very end, i'm gonna go straight up, and start tracing all the way the back, of their body, now their mouths are so interesting one, because they're so long and they got, that giant tongue in them but also did, you know they don't have teeth, they don't have any teeth, i guess they don't need to for the diet, that they have that means the stuff that, they eat are bugs you don't really need, strong teeth for that, so they don't have any, no teeth, we'll do this little bottom part of the, tail, this tail can be used to help balance, them that's when they stand up, they use that tail behind them kind of, like when uh kangaroos stand up, they have their tail back there and they, kind of use it like a third or a yes it, would be a third leg because their arms, yeah a third leg and it helps balance, them, but they can do the same thing with, their giant bushy tail, i will finish off the nose here, their nose is very very powerful, it can smell 40 times better than ours, can isn't that crazy, they kind of have to make up for having, really bad eyesight, they can't see very well, so they rely on other senses and we, notice that about a lot of different, animals, that maybe they don't have as good of, senses or one sin isn't as good as other, ones but the other ones are heightened, that means they're a lot better, it happens in humans too, when people either lose their sight or, their hearing or other things, they can sometimes get really good, at their other senses they get, heightened, and they can smell very very well, i mean i don't know if they smell nice, but, their nose works, all right let's get an underbelly, see look how big those claws are four, inches that is huge, these are huge claws like i said they, can defend themselves with them which is, cool, but they also can rip apart, rip open i should say like a like an ant, hill and be able to get to all the ants, that they want and all the bugs or, termites, but the interesting thing is and the, really smart thing about anteaters is, they don't destroy the nests, they don't destroy them because then, they can't come back to them and eat, more of them later so they're really, careful not to destroy, the nests that they're eating from they, just open up the top of them, so they can get into it, it's pretty smart isn't it, i guess like humans as well right we, don't want to destroy or, hunt different animals or, you know, eat too many of these animals or plants, or things like that that we can't keep, doing it can't keep it sustainable, we got to make sure that we, are smart about how we, access our food, all right let's draw this big eyeball, now their eyes really aren't that big, but i like making my animals with big, friendly eyeballs that's why we make the, pupil the center of your eyeball really, big, and we'll do a little ear right here on, the back, oh we're close okay let's do that long, tongue, oh it's gonna be kind of hard with this, marker i'm gonna leave myself some room, so i can fit the pink inside there, all right okay maybe you want to add, some ants or termites on there too, that'd be a whole lot of fun, now normally i would do some more marks, and things like that on the inside but i, think i'm going to do it all with the, color so if you want to see what i'm, going to do, we'll just catch up afterwards i'll do a, really quick time lapse and you can see, me coloring but then we'll uh we'll look, at it afterwards so if you need to catch, up press pause, otherwise have fun, coloring and i will too and we'll meet, up right after, [Music], all right, i feel like my anteater is finished that, was so much fun to color there are so, many cool little parts there's so many, cool designs on the side of this on the, side of this giant anteater the fur is, fantastic i love that little stripe on, the side, but uh i didn't think of a name oh my, gosh i had to think of a name how about, um arnie, arnie, i like that arnie the anteater did you, come up with the name for yours, awesome well cool well i hope you guys, had a fun time drawing this was always, so much fun for me so, having you
