[Music], hello my friends welcome back to my, channel, it's always so nice to, have you here, i do wish sometimes that i did, that i could talk to you guys while, while doing these pages um but that, would involve me doing um, lives and, i don't know i'm just a little more, comfortable doing it this way, so, anyway, this is, um, my newest coloring page in my etsy shop, and she is titled modern day athena, because of her owl friend here, and uh, this because i was kind of testing out, to see, [Music], what i wanted to do as far as, paper and coloring and all that this is, the sepia on white paper, and then this is the medium gray on tan, pa on, tan paper and this is the sepia on tan, paper, so, um, when you print on 10 paper they do tend, to come out a little bit darker than, they do on the white, so, um, [Music], just keep that in mind, but i thought for um a little change i, would see what kind of results i get, using the, sepia on tan paper, so that's what we're gonna do, i am going to use prismacolors, and, i'm going to use a the color combination, very similar to the ones that i always, use, um they work well for me uh that color, combo and it seems that i can always get, a variation of color, um whether i want her to be lighter, skinned or darker skinned, the same pencils seem to work pretty, well to get me the results that i want, so, why change what works i guess, is my point, so, um, let's see what else do i want to mention, if you're coloring her on white paper i, would, do the light colors first i would, probably do the dark colors um after i, get a layer of um, light peach down, um don't do the peach first i do peach, first because the light peach on tan, paper shows up so bright so if you're, doing this on white paper, do your light peach first then do your, shadows, i'm going to go ahead and do my, shadows, or at least some of them first, so this is chestnut, and, it's always nice if you can find a flat, edge on your pencil, um i've even, taken out a piece of paper and rubbed it, on, the paper in fact i'm going to do that, right now rubbed it on the paper a, little bit to get my flat edge, established, and then that way when you go to, you just really have to find it though, when you, when you go to start laying your color, down you don't get um, any dark lines it's it's pretty smooth, we want smooth, so i've never done a sepia page before, so this will be interesting to see, um, if there's any changes in the way that, it looks, that fan is loud, i hope it's not too loud for you guys so, yeah, i really need it though okay, so, this looks really dark, it's not going to seem as dark once we, get, the layers of color going on here this, this is the darkest, part of her, um, of her face though so, but don't panic, it looks really really dark to you it, will cut it will cover, and these um these reddish pencils the, chestnut because it has so much red in, it they do really well, in covering, gray tones, okay she needs a little bit of, shading under her collarbone here, i know i totally left the face and, worked my way down here, i'll be interested in seeing how she, turns out, because as i discovered on the last, page i did, you can do the same, image twice, and have it look completely different, both times, so, hopefully i can get her to look, like she's supposed to look, okay let's come back up here, so, my, all i can hear is that fan just, making so much noise, i need to go through and put a, it's just going to be a pain in the butt, but i think i have to go through and you, know put a quarter or something take a, quarter to one of the, fan blades try and figure out why it's, out of, what's the word i'm trying to think of, out of level no out of balance, why is out of balance try and get it, back in balance again, so, so, the nose is always one of the, most, i don't know difficult i guess parts, can get it to look so, [Music], different just by where you place your, shadows and highlights, change the shape bit completely, so, okay let's um, just do a little bit, it's so easy to accidentally turn your, pencil and then all of a sudden now you, have a sharp edge, okay, let's not forget to do her arm, does she have any ears showing now that, i have to not forget, not forget, i'm notorious for here for getting ears, so, so, okay then we have some shadow over here, in her underarm, and up here, okay i'm gonna definitely, come back in and add more of this, but i think i want to go ahead and do, the white now, okay so for the white i want to make, sure that i have, right here, shhh, well i know it's really early yet but so, far i haven't found much difference, between working on this and working on, the gray, so we'll see it probably would make a, bigger difference on white paper i would, imagine, that's funny how, i was just noticing her forehead already, looks more, three-dimensional just from the, the two pencils going on there, looks like it's, rounded i don't know why i always get, such a kick out of that, oh my gosh i found some, a couple of artists but one specific, that's newly found to me on instagram, and i'm sorry you'll have to forgive me, i cannot think of her the name of the, artist, they are not, here in the u.s um, i'm not even sure what country they're, from the, the the font that the writing on their, page was, um, you know not even in a i don't know what, it's called i don't i'm not sure if it, was cerrulic, or was definitely not a latin-based, language, it kind of looked, middle eastern or, something but anyway um, the, the artwork that this person creates, just, blows me away and they say they give um, lessons virtual lessons, but there's i can't find any link i, can't find any information about it, um but their portraits were so good, and i just, it's like oh my goodness someday i just, really, would love to get to be that, that talented that experienced these, portraits they look, so, real and good and it's all in the little, details that they put on there, and i try you know i try to do my best, to, to do what i can to try and make them, uh to make my portraits look as real as, possible, but this person they take the, realism to a whole other level, it's just, just amazing, i think that's one of the really cool, things about, you know instagram and facebook and, stuff, um, because to be honest with you i kind of, i kind of feel like those platforms are, almost, um the downfall of society, but there's good things about it too, there's definitely good things about it, too and one of those good things is that, it it brings people from all over the, world, together with common interests and, and uh and lets you see things that you, would never have seen otherwise which, you know that is, pretty cool so, uh, anyway it was just this, i'll try and, if i can find it i'll try and uh, put a link, somewhere, but you know how instagram always, you know shows you stuff by the way, speaking of instagram if you guys, have you guys noticed i've noticed this, is something i've noticed on instagram i, feel like, i am getting, more ads and more suggested, posts, um then i am getting the people that i, have that i watch, that i have followed it's like i go, through my feed and it's like every, other or, even more than every other, post is either an ad or, you know them suggesting this person to, me and it's like, that's great and all but i want to see, the people that i'm following, so i had to, i found a way to to snooze that those, suggested posts for like 30 days so that, i could actually, see the post that i of the people that, i'm following, um because it just gets you know they, get lost in all of that, and honestly i don't have time i don't, have time to to scroll for, um you know hours and hours i got stuff, to do, i got art to make i got you know a baby, to take care of i got things going on so, i i want to get straight to the people, that i follow so that i can see what, they're doing and, all those, ads and suggestive posts sometimes can, be kind of annoying, okay sharpen loud noise, all right so we're gonna go to peach, uh, i just i just love it when i it i start, seeing it coming together you know it, stops being just a flat, two-dimensional image and it starts, taking shape as a, actual, person, something i forgot to do let's come back, in here real quick with some white, let's get some of that in under here, so i, um i have a friend who was asking me, about, the, spring hill digital, and how i liked it and she was thinking, about buying um, the annina cardstock, and had i ever tried it and i hadn't, um, but when she asked me about it it kind, of reminded me like i had been thinking, about, or wondering how the, nina, white, paper or white cardstock i'll call it, how it compares, to the neenah, desert storm, because i would love it if i could find, a white paper, that, behaved like this paper does as far as, tooth goes, so i am, going to try and fix something here, i feel like i went, a little bit too dark with the um, chestnut right here and i came down in, this weird angle, i'm not sure if i can, cover that up i think yeah i think it'll, be okay now, um, it just looked like too sharp of a line, that's that's better okay, fix those problems early, while you can still erase and such, so, i'm kind of feeling like i'm i'm liking, the sepia, i don't know why but it feels like i'm, getting, i'm getting um, to her looking, the way i want faster i could it could, be completely my imagination but, without having to cover up, where the tones are not so gray i kind, of kind of liking that, okay i'm not gonna go, way up in here with this, peach because i i do want it, i do want it dark, um, i gotta think about that for a minute, i'm just wondering if i bring, black grape into the mix, what will happen, i'm not sure i gotta think about that, for a minute, let's see, because this is actually the first time, that i've, colored the coloring page, i'm wondering if i put this in, so now we've lightened it up because of, the, the lighter colored peach, then if i put it back in, it won't be quite as, dark, i don't mind it being really dark down, here because that's, pretty heavily shadowed, that might work we still got a ways to, go but after i blend all that together i, think that might work pretty well, okay let's, this is a piece of hair right here this, is her skin, uh, so, i've um i've pulled out, so i'm i'm using the, negative what do you call that, like your, telephoto instead of you know making, things bigger i'm good i'm doing the, opposite with my camera phone and, so i pulled back, so that, i wasn't going to be so out of, frame all the time, but if i need to um, make it bigger i can make it bigger in, in, the editing part, so, really love doing portraits, i love doing animals and i love doing, girls people, not so much, drawing men but, i do really try to really enjoy this, i liked painting and i really need to go, back to, painting some more stuff, there aren't enough hours in the day for, all of the things that i want to do, um, when i was first learning how to, do, the animals and i was doing, color pencil animals and then i, discovered pastels, i kept it bouncing back and forth, between what was my favorite using, pastels or using colored pencils, every time i did a color pencil piece, that was my favorite and i would do a, pastel piece i was like nope i like, pastels better, the same thing happened when i started, painting it was like oh i love painting, this is great this is my favorite medium, and then, you know you, i started doing color pencil again and, it was like oh my god what was i, thinking, i miss my colored pencils, so i haven't done any painting i've been, doing all colored pencil portraits and, drawings and all of that stuff, but i do want to go back to painting, again, and i want to go back to, [Music], i'm just going to put a little bit of, shadow right here it's not really on the, um, the original, but i think i want her to i want it to, be subtle i don't want it to be real, um, what was i saying i don't know i can't, remember now, anyway i need to go back and i don't, want to lose those skills that i, you know learned, but, i'm really enjoying working in color, pencil again, what i like about color pencil is it's, so neat, and clean and i don't have to, um, i don't have to clean up i can, and i can just sit down for a few, minutes, whenever i feel like it, and work i can't he can't really do that, with paint, all right i think we're ready for light, peach, oh no we're not, because we're forgetting body parts, peach on the arms, i wish i had some, girlfriends, near me who'd like to do art and color, and stuff, my coloring buddies live, out of state, okay a little bit over here, boy it's kind of nice to be all um, pulled out because i really don't have, to, stress about being out of camera, no frame, okay let's do some light, light peach, so, so, i went ahead and went over the white, because this is so light it's still, keeping um the center area of her, forehead pretty bright and light, all right i'm gonna slow down, sometimes i tend to go pretty fast, on big areas like this but her nose i, want to, slow down and get right, i can always add more white, that's the beauty of, this paper, okay, you, let's put a little bit in here, so i'm going to be using a couple of, luminance pencils in this, portrait, because i love them so much, and, i love the colors, um, but if you don't have them if you don't, have luminance don't, you know freak out think you can't do, the portrait, um just, pick something different, i'm gonna use anthroquino, pink, so you could just pick, a different pink, i like the anthro pink because it's, it's slightly um, orangey it's not a baby pink, it's just one of my favorite pinks of, all of the um, all the brands of pencils that i have, it's one of my favorite pinks so i, pretty much almost use that, no matter what brand of pencil i'm using, and then i'm also going to be using the, dark flesh five percent, so i would say that if you like doing, portraits, i think i told you the guys this in, another, video feels like i'm repeating myself, um if you like doing portraits but you, don't have the luminance, it's you know a full set of luminance or, whatever i would highly recommend that, you get the, flesh all of the flesh pencils which now, the dark flesh ones are called warm, earth, which drives me crazy why they do that, but they did so, the warm earth, all of them there's three uh, the fold the full one which is nice and, dark, and there's a forty percent, and uh, five percent, they're amazing um pencils for, skin tones, the light flesh colors, you know you could they're not bad, um they're they the uh, they're not bad either but honestly, um the best ones in my opinion are are, the um, the dark the warm earth, colors, or dark flesh, and those work on whether you're doing, light skin or dark skin, i use them for both, there's no color in, prismacolors that comes close, without having to blend, she looks very bright and pink right now, that's because of the light peach, but that's okay because we just we're, gonna keep building up, okay, i'm gonna go ahead and put the anthro, pink in now, just because i want to get it, i want a layer of color pencil right, here which i don't have yet and i might, it might as well be the pink color which, is what i, want here so, about this dark, okay, um, i'm gonna pull out my, espresso, just a little bit, and then the chestnut again, one of the things that i noticed about, the way that this um, hyper realistic artist, um does her her um, her portraits one of the things that i, noticed is, um, she's not afraid to go dark, in areas of the face and, the results, is, phenomenal, and i think that that's one of those, things that we're all super afraid of, is going too dark on a face, i know i am, so that's one of those things that i, want to try and get better at, so i was kind of freaking out here about, this really dark spot from the grayscale, thinking oh man maybe i need to, re-assess the coloring page before i, release it, but i have to say that, i'm i'm kind of feeling like as the as i, continue to work this page, i'm going to be really happy with that, darkness, um, i think it's important, i think it's important to have, and so, [Music], i'm not gonna freak out about it i'm, just gonna keep working this page, my, um it's probably too early to bother, putting this in here yet but i'm gonna, do it anyway, i'm gonna do always a little pink on the, nose, be amazed how much, realism that adds just that little bit, of pink, okay, so, we have nowhere near enough pencil on, this page yet, um i think i'm going to, [Music], put some beige on here and we'll see, [Music], the forehead is covered better than her, chest and other areas are, let's let's put some beige on here it's, um, it's actually a really nice, color, and, if you're um, if you're, the skin tone looks too pink to you, right now, from the peach and the light peach, the beige, or eggshell, will really tone that down, uh, so, [Music], i just want to see something here, okay i think i want to leave that that, little bit of white right there, all right i'm working in, small circles here, i don't want to come too far up onto the, dark because then, i'm going to be doing the opposite of, what i just i don't want to lighten it, up again i want to keep it, dark, i think her neck and chest really are, what need the most work right now, i'm gonna need to do some more work on, her nose, [Music], so, let's go ahead and add this and see what, that does, so when you're following along, with a, um, a color along, or tutorial or whatever, um, always be aware of what your actual page, is doing, because you need to remember that the, paper that i'm using, um, along with the pressure that i'm using, with my pencils and all of that, is going to factor into, what's happening on the page and, um just because i'm using, certain colors, does not mean that you have to use those, certain colors, um, be aware of what's happening, underneath your fingers on your page on, your paper and if you feel like, things are not, working the way you would like them to, then readjust, there's nothing, wrong with, doing something different, you got to do what do what works, what works, okay we need a lot more color on here, um and i'm not sure if it's light peach, that i want to add so i mean uh peach, that i want to add yet, yeah maybe a little bit more peach i, think i just did not add enough color, so i guess this is kind of what i mean, so if you're, if you're trying to keep up with me and, you're go and i'm off to the next color, or whatever and you're like well wait, i, this doesn't look right, then add something else add some more, color add, you know go with your go with your gut, and do what, what feels right, because, it's not always what i'm doing, i think we have to adjust a little bit, when i was, first starting, i would try and follow, chris, chang, in her tutorials, and you look at it you watch her and, you're like oh my god, it's so, so amazing, it's so good and she makes it look so, easy, and then you go to do it, and it's like wait a minute, this doesn't look anything like hers and, i'm doing exactly the same thing or at, least you think you're doing exactly the, same thing as she is, um no, you're not, um or i wasn't, because it's always gonna be different, depending on, who's holding the pencil, it's always gonna, you're never going to get the exact same, results as the as the tutorial, or the color along because that person, is using different paper different, pressure different, everything so, i don't know why i'm babbling on about, this but just be prepared to readjust if, you have to and, make changes, to get the results that you want, all right i'm just not happy about, what's going on here and i don't, i don't know why yet, um, light is coming from this, side but she probably still needs some, shading under here, um, this is light, umber, i feel like i don't want, it to be quite as red as chestnut would, be, so this is a little bit more yellow, okay, um, so much more to do yet, so this is this is peach, i'm gonna add some more of this, every time i add another layer it's like, oh that's better yep that's better, just, i just need lots of layers to, i hope i can get this done in another 40, minutes or so, but see already her arm i don't know if, you can tell but already it looks, better, i can see, less of the paper underneath, and that's more chestnut under there, i'm gonna add some more chestnut under, here, uh, a little bit, okay more more color more something here, i really, i'm kind of thinking that the light, peach is just too light, so, more peach, so, so, uh, chestnut, still not, happy with this, let's bring this, up it might be time to bring in some, like uh, i like it like, like ogre convert poker, maybe, of course we could before let me just, think about this for a minute, okay, um, i'm gonna do a little bit more of this, and throw i just call it anthro pink, a little bit more of this, let me see what this um, the luminance, dark flesh five percent does, now i think she needs a little, warmth yet so this is the um, burnt ochre, and i'm gonna do this very very lightly, try and get that flat edge working for, us, i think i need some um, eggshell, really get some more yellow going on, here, uh, uh, okay i am gonna want more, of the purpley tones on this side of her, face but i think it still needs a little, bit of this, goldeny color too, i'm starting to feel better about this, color now, uh, okay, i've not picked up my pencil at all, since i started this so i have a really, nice, flat edge, trying not to rush, i think it's especially easy to do when, you're when you're working in larger, areas, now, and just get some color on this, um collarbone it's way too, light, careful, so, okay let's do some over here, uh, so, uh, all right let's try some eggshell, and i think i'm going to do some labs, some grade lavender as well, well i thought that i was gonna use the, uh five percent luminance but i, i don't think i'm gonna i don't think, i'm gonna need it, so, this, i can feel, under my pencil that i don't have as, much, color, down here as i do up here, up here it, it it glides and i can feel, it, and when i come down here, the sound of the paper, gets a lot louder, so i can tell that i'm not, on top of as much pencil as i am up, higher, so i need to work on that, i think i'm going to want to bring in, some white, maybe i'll try beige to blend since it's, so, kind of neutral, let's try a little bit more beige, it's actually almost too late, okay this is the karen the karen dash, um, dark flesh five percent, if you don't have it don't worry about, it just keep using the pencils that, you've been using, blending this, all right, i'm gonna try this in here, see how nice it it softens and blends, out those dark colors, or the darker tones, that's what we want right there, uh, i'm gonna try and blend that and see, what happens, using my colorless blender, i actually really like that, so, so, her um, her chin her jaw looks like it's really, jutting out and i think that's, um something that i did i know it's not, supposed to do that, so that's, something that i did with either too, much light, um this is, black grape, i'm just gonna, trim that, down a little bit, all right let's take some, grade lavender, [Music], yep i like it, very good, okay, um let's get her eyes and lips done and, then, i will know what to continue to do with, her, um, with her skin, it's not, it's not bad i am i think i'm happy, just planned this a little bit, i need a little bit more darkness right, here, um we can use, light umber, we can use the uh, the dark, flesh from karan dash because that, collar bone was just looking a little, bit too, wide, we add the darkness, it recesses this, and shrinks that collarbone down a, little bit, a little bit of light peach not light, peach peach, regular old peach, okay that's better, okay, um let's, um, what do i need for that, uh white, white, start there, we're gonna put, make sure that our lines are curved the, direction that the lip, is going, i'm not sure what colors i want to do, her lips in, oops, well i mean, and that might be too dark, my nectar, let's just start with nectar i always, seem to start with nectar, [Music], this is, mahogany red, i'm, just putting the dark color on the, underside, of the lip, and on the underside of this lip, debating on, this one or if we just go for pink, or we can go for, blush pink, let's try blush pink, that's a little light, let's go back to the mahogany red we, need it dark in, between the, lip feathering, out, that's not bad, that's not bad that's kind of a nice, natural lip i kind of like that, um still a little, this is the um, you know that reflection, and i think she needs a little bit of, shadow underneath here which i don't, think i ever added, so let's contour her chin a little bit, uh, a little bit of white, i like that, so let's do a little bit more white, on, her nose, so a little bit more hair, a little bit more on her, forehead, just doing the lips, made a difference, um kind of made me think yeah i'm uh i, think i'm pretty happy with, with her skin tone i'm going to add some, more, chestnut though, and here, and i, think just darken this in a little bit, more, uh, so i think i feel like this is one of, those times where i should be going, much darker, but i'm afraid, you guys know how that feels i'm sure, okay, that's not, bad i'm gonna put some white along the, edge here, that'll get covered up when i do the, hair, i mean some of that will get covered up, it's a little wide right now i think, um, it's, so a little bit too wide that i'm really, not happy with it it's going to drive me, crazy so let me take the, color that i'm going to use for her hair, actually maybe a little bit darker color, let's get out the, beige sienna, okay, come on now, i wanted just a little bit of white, there we go, that's better i just wanted a little bit, okay, um eyes eyes eyes eyes, um, we could give her green eyes, my original, um peace she had blue eyes, um, i really like this blue though, okay, um, i don't want to waste time, so, i feel like i did this in another video, as well this is the derwent drawing ink, blue, truly if you don't have this just pick, whatever color eyes you want because, i think that no matter what whether, they're blue eyes or green eyes, i think they'll be pretty, i don't use all of my pencils nearly as, often as i should, um i need to get some gray in those, so this is 10, cool gray, and then we'll use, i think 50., if i can find it, let's do 50 percent, that might not even be dark enough, 50, on the outer parts, and, 70 percent, under her lashes, let's put the nectar in here, i think a little, mahogany red, i don't know why, uh, wait, that's better, put some nectar, right there, and how about some, white, little shiny reflective bits, okay eyelashes, nice sharp pencil, um, polychromos is nice, i love my spirit farben, um, but, and even a prisma will work as long as, you get it nice and sharp, so lashes, swoop, under a, a tiny little bit, and they curve, and they curve, this way on this half of the eye and, this way on this half of the eye, and in the center they're kind of, straight up and down, they clump together, so these i'm gonna make really, small because they're, they're right here at the corner of the, eye, and i'm going to start curving the other, way a little early on this eye, okay and then down here we're going to, do the same thing, curve, and clump, all right, um, i want to put a little bit, this is a whole bean, white, and i'm just doing a couple of little, dots, right there, to be a a, shiny bit, um, i could work on her for another half an, hour easy, um let's do some, lavender, let's get this, a little bit darker, um, blending, some of these areas that look like they, need it, i feel pretty good about this, i want some freckles on her though, so, let's do them in, [Music], uh do we do chestnut, i think that's too dark, let's do them in, and i think light umber is too, something else too yellow let's try, sienna brown, maybe, freckles is not the right word, but, i think she needs some you know, little dots, she needs, some imperfections, be subtle, we don't want her to look, overly, um, imperfect, just, i think we'll keep those, maybe a little more focused on her nose, we could do a couple on her, on her chest, it just feels like adding those little, imperfections makes me feel like it, looks more, realistic, okay what's up, remember if you do add them, to, keep them really random, you don't want her to look like she has, polka dots all over her, so some of them get clumped really close, together some of them are, further apart, i actually like these up here, oh i'm really happy with how she turned, out, um and i didn't even do anything super, fancy on that eyeball, but yeah, the stripiness kind of, did the job just like the way that, i kind of put them in there i don't, think i need to do anything else to that, and i don't even even know if i need to, add more black to the center i think, i think it looks okay but maybe i will, anyway let's do a little bit, actually i might cover up that little, highlight there, and put one back, let's go, again like this, instead of dots that looks nice, um we'll do her eyebrows when we do her, hair, and, i, i think she i think she's done, um, yeah, i feel pretty good about this so, [Music], i don't even know if i if i feel the, desire to really work on her much more, than this i think, as i keep going i know right oh you know, what i want to do let's add her little, um, a little bit of darkness in here under, her, nostril, there we go, i'm pretty happy with that you guys oops, um so i'm gonna call that, um done, so on the next one we'll work on her, hair and uh we'll see how far we get on, that probably heron flowers, and then we'll do the owl and then the, background so we'll probably get this, done in four, and four videos so, all right until i see you guys again, take care of yourselves take care of, each other and happy coloring, thanks for being here, bye, you

Athena vs Joan of Arc, I think this would be an awesome match up in my opinion. Here's some fanart I made. I might color it and make other fan covers. 7
